During an illustrious career, Gordon won three Heineken cups, a Challenge Cup and four league titleswith Leinster, two Six Nations titles with Ireland, including a Grand Slam in 2009, and travelled on two British & Irish Lions Tours.

Come and hear Peter York talk about his research into how some of history’s most alarming men and women have chosen to decorate their homes; exploring the private tastes of these public figures in the broader contect of twentieth century interiors and architecture.
Tickets are £15.00 for members and £20.00 for guests.
A cllub supper is available afterwards for £22.50 per head, as long as it is booked in advance.
BEER 'N' BLITZ CHESS!
Starting on November 22nd, Club member Jonathan Rowson, former three-time British Chess Champion, and author of The Moves that Matter: A Chess Grandmaster on the Game of Life is happy to host a weekly informal chess gathering called 'Beer and Blitz'.
Beer you will know about, and although it's not compulsory on the night, it is encouraged, and the bar will be happy to help. Blitz chess is where each side has five minutes or less to complete the whole game. Again, this is also not compulsory, and if you want to play slower games you can. The point is to use the enjoyment of chess to make good use of facilities and attract new people to the club. The first few weeks before Christmas will be informal, but we anticipate there will be scope to create tournaments and training in the New Year.
