We are delighted to welcome Mike Wright to the Club for what promises to be an insightful and thought-provoking evening exploring the future of the UK's digital landscape.
The UK occupies a unique position in the global digital economy. It boasts one of the world's leading fintech sectors, a world-class AI research community and a government with ambitious digital aspirations. Yet millions of people still struggle with basic online services, digital identity remains fragmented, and inadequate connectivity continues to limit opportunities in many parts of the country.
In this engaging talk, Mike will examine the tensions between digital innovation and digital exclusion, exploring why the UK's digital transformation is both a remarkable success story and an ongoing challenge. Drawing on decades of experience at the highest levels of global technology leadership, he will share key insights into the UK's evolving digital landscape and offer practical perspectives on how individuals and organisations can thrive in an era of rapid technological change, uncertainty and emerging risks.
Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for questions before members and guests are invited to join Mike for an informal Club Supper.

About the Speaker
Mike Wright is a Non-Executive Director at the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), the UK's child safeguarding agency, following a distinguished 25-year executive career leading technology functions for some of the world's most prominent organisations. He has served as Chief Technology Officer at McKinsey & Company, Man Group, Fidelity International and Willis Group, overseeing global technology operations and major business transformation programmes.
Earlier in his career, Mike was a consultant with Accenture and McKinsey, founded and led a software products company, and served as a non-executive director of a technology start-up specialising in digital rights management. He has also advised leading organisations including HP and Box, contributed to Accenture's Global CIO panel, and participated in strategic initiatives examining the future of outsourcing and digital transformation.
Recognised as one of the UK's Top 50 CIOs in both 2008 and 2010, Mike has represented the technology sector at the World Economic Forum in Davos and continues to advise organisations on technology, governance and digital strategy.
Mike graduated from the University of Oxford with an MA in Biochemistry, following research into Parkinson's disease. Outside his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, sport and supporting a range of charitable organisations.
